Abstract
The present paper is the second one in a set of papers presenting the results and conclusions of the third version of the IIASA FMS database. This version of the database includes 799 systems from 26 countries. The accuracy and completeness of the data has improved since the second version.
This paper focuses on international comparison. First, it presents the features and characteristics of the systems in the five main Western user countries. Secondly, it makes an East-West comparison indicating regular patterns and differences between countries. The paper gives a deep insight into adaptation patterns of FM-systems.
