Abstract

The verification of net greenhouse gas emission changes, as required under the Kyoto Protocol, is not yet fully understood. This report reflects the attempt to explore the usefulness of the Laplace integral transform techniques to grasp the dynamics of emissions and emission uncertainties in order to understand verification characteristics of different systems emitting greenhouse gases. The study is based on the Verification Time Concept proposed by the IIASA Forestry Project. The Laplace integral transform is applied to describe the dynamics of emissions and uncertainties.
