Abstract

Stochastic models of local wind are illustrated in the paper. From each model a real-time predictor is derived, namely a recursive relationship which, at the beginning of each hour, supplies with forecasts of future wind values on the basis of current and recent wind measurements. The forecast performances of the different predictors are compared in a real case (wind at the meteorological station in Venice).
