Abstract

Technologies are usually introduced at market level when the context requires them. To forecast when hydrogen will be introduced as an energy vector, I analyzed the context at the level of the energy system, and at the level of the air transportation system. Both contexts indicate the commercial introduction of hydrogen fuel towards the end of the century. The main drive in the area of aviation is the bottleneck in the increase in jet engines' power that can be solved only by going hypersonic.
