Abstract

The international conference on the elaboration of a dynamic health model and the information system for the coordination of research in oncology was held in Moscow and Laxenburg under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of the USSR, The World Health Organization (WHO) and IIASA.

The subject discussed at the Conference -- the application of systems analysis and mathematical modeling to health and medicine -- attracted prominent scientists, experts in health administration, mathematicians, economists, and oncologists. The publication includes the main papers submitted by the organizers of the Conference, reports by the participants and a summary of the discussions which took place at plenary and section meetings.
