%X The present study on integrated environmental modelling had the following aims:        - a presentation and discussion of some IEMs;        - development of a model design for an IEM;        - development of mathematical and statistical tools which are relevant to the specific characteristics and problems of operationalising an IEM;        ioperationalization of a model design for an integrated environmental approach of the Biesbosch area in the Netherlands.
