Mauritius is a small, densely populated island where natural and human resource limits are obvious. The scenarios describe current trends on Mauritius well. They give a fine-tuned feeling for the differential impacts of labor, land, water, and pollution absorption capacity. They show that at various points in the course of development different limiting factors function, and thus it is necessary to give attention to all major factors of production and limitation in one holistic setting. date: 1996 date_type: published publisher: Springer official_url: http://www.jstor.org/stable/27503461 iiasapubid: XJ-96-080 iiasa_bibref: Population and Environment; 17(3):217-242 (January 1996) iiasa_bibnotes: <www.jstor.org/stable/27503461> creators_browse_id: 1667 creators_browse_id: 1520 full_text_status: none publication: Population and Environment volume: 17 number: 3 pagerange: 217-242 refereed: TRUE issn: 1573-7810 coversheets_dirty: FALSE fp7_type: info:eu-repo/semantics/article citation: Wils, A.B. & Prinz, C.
