As technology evolves, so do industry characteristics, products, and critical success factors. Firms without the right capabilities are forced to exit. Thus an industry's structure, attractiveness and the kinds of capabilities that it needs to succeed, may vary over time suggesting different strategies for each phase. date: 1996-11 date_type: published publisher: WP-96-122 iiasapubid: WP-96-122 price: 10 full_text_status: public monograph_type: working_paper place_of_pub: IIASA, Laxenburg, Austria pages: 31 coversheets_dirty: FALSE fp7_type: info:eu-repo/semantics/book citation: Afuah, A.N. & Utterback, J.M.
