Abstract

A unique collaboration between the private sector, NGOs and academia, working to demonstrate the benefits of pre-event investment to treat the cause of flooding, as opposed to just post-event relief of symptoms.

IIASA RISK scientists are working with the Alliance and four additional NGOs to test the Zurich Flood Resilience Measurement Framework and Tool in 70 communities across eight countries worldwide.

This project is generating empirical evidence on the sources of resilience –something which has never been done before.
