Global data of the GAINS model for the emissions of the compound SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride) have been made available in a gridded format (0.5°, annual data from 2005 – 2020) as a NetCDF-file. Values are provided in kt/year for each grid cell. This data supports global inversions under EYE-CLIMA, while formally not being a project deliverable. Resolution and time range deviate from the European dataset, which has been submitted separately at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.11032177. Specifically, this data has been contributed to a publication currently available as a preprint: Vojta, M., Plach, A., Annadate, S., Park, S., Lee, G., Purohit, P., Lindl, F., Lan, X., Mühle, J., Thompson, R. L., and Stohl, A.: A global re-analysis of regionally resolved emissions and atmospheric mole fractions of SF6 for the period 2005–2021, EGUsphere [preprint], https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2024-811, 2024.
